Roadside Help

The weather is beautiful outside and you wish to go for a long drive or a ride on the highway. Or you have already planned a road trip with your family or friends and are planning to go on a long break away from home in your own vehicle; a RV or a 4WD. You have got your vehicle serviced and checked and rechecked everything thoroughly. You are sure that noting will go wrong and you will definitely have a smooth journey till you reach your desired destination. But you can not be sure of anything. No matter how much you are prepared, you may have missed out on one small thing, which can lead to car trouble or bike trouble in the middle of no where. What would you do in such a case?

What can go wrong?

The tyres of your bike or car can get punctured. If there happens to be a slight leak in your fuel tank, then the fuel can get over sooner than you expected. The water in the carburettor can get over due to constant running of the engine, which leads to the engine to overheat. The car or the bike can just stop without any warning and you are left wondering what went wrong. You stopped on the way and you left the keys in your car and everyone else is out of the car. You don’t even have a duplicate and you definitely can’t leave your car out there. These are just some of the unfortunate things that can happen to you. This is not the end of it though. There are many other problems that you may not have even heard of and remotely thought that you would face but they can definitely crop up.

Prepare yourself!

You can never be completely prepared but you can definitely reduce the trouble that you may run in to. Here’s how…

Tyres & Wheels: You can always get your tyres and wheels checked by someone or you yourself can check by checking the tyre pressure, checking for any damages or cuts to the tyre tread. You can also check for any dings on the wheel rims or then for loose spokes.

Controls & Cables: Ensure that the brake, clutch and the throttle are operating smoothly. You can check and see that the cables are not binding or sticking. Also ensure that the breaks feel right.

Lights: Check and see if all the lights are functioning properly namely the brake lights, the headlights, and the turn signals.

Oil & Fuel: This is one of the important things as there have been many cases when the fuel falls short or the oil is not enough.
